Abstract
Aim:To investigate the protective effects of sindacon on renal ischemic-reperfusion injury(IRI)in rats. Methods:Fifty rats were randomly divided in five groups:sham operation group, model group, sindacon high, middle, low dosage groups(200,100,50 mg/kg).The renal IRI model was established after intragastric administration of corresponding drugs for seven days among sindacon high, middle, low dosage groups.Rats of model group were administrated saline. The scores of renal tubule injury were assessed. The levels of blood urea nitrogen(BUN)and creatinine(Cr)in serum, activity of superoxidase(SOD)and content of malondialdehyde(MDA)in renal homogenate were measured. Results:The scores of renal tubule injury, and the levels of blood BUN and Cr,SOD and MDA in renal homogenate among the five groups were obviously different(F were 136.710,102.695,99.754,16.471,71.333,P0.001).Compared with the model group, the scores of renal tubule injury, the levels of BUN and Cr were higher and the level of MDA was lower in sindacon high, and middle dosage groups. The levels of SOD in sindacon high grouphigher than that in model group(P0.05).Conclusion:Sindacon has protective effect in rats on renal IRI,and the mechanism may be due to its antioxidant capacity.
