Abstract
With the gravity similarity criterion, the hydraulic model test at stepped sluicing structure for energy dissipation is carried out systematically. The results indicate that the energy dissipation ratio is nearly the same under the three flow conditions of nappe flow and transition flow as well as the skimming flow when the slope ranges between 5.7° and 60° and the relative critical water depth is h_k/h≤3.Meanwhile,the energy dissipation ratio increases with the rising of relatively dam height(H_(dam)/h_k) and decreases with the increasing of dam slope. The relation of energy dissipation ratio between step and stilling basin is that the energy dissipation ratio decreases gradually at step section and the energy dissipation ratio increase gradually at stilling basin when the dam slope increases.Namely, the difference of energy dissipation ratio between step and stilling basin increase with the increasing of dam slope. The height of step has less influence on energy dissipation ratio,it is just around 1%,moreover,the energy dissipation ratio decreases with the increasing of flow discharge.
