Abstract
Objective:To examine the expression of nephrin in the glomerular and to investigate the possible role of nephrin in the development of proteinuria in patients with nephrotic syndrome (NS).Method:Immunofluorescence staining, confocal laser scanning microscopy and RT-PCR analysis were used to investigate the expression of the nephrin in the glomerular in patients with NS,isolated hematuria and control group.Result:In the patients with NS,immunofluorescence staining analysis found that the glomerular expression of nephrin decreased significantly compared with that in isolated hematuria patients(P0.05) or control group(P0.05).And what′s more, the glomerular expression of the nephrin mRNA also decreased significantly compared with that in isolated hematuria patients(P0.05)or control group(P0.05).Conclusion:The results showed that the dramatic decrease of nephrin expression might contribute to the development of proteinuria in the patients with NS.
