Abstract
Faults are important geological structures which often occur in underground engineering operations. As a result, determining the characteristic parameters of faults on an exact basis is of some significance for construction and maintenance of underground engineering. This paper highlights the ground penetrating radar method. The method enables the direct exploration of position, strike, and dip of a fault within a range of depth. The GPR may also indirectly explore the throw of faults by determining the direct position of marker bed. Examples of engineering signify that it is feasible to determine the characteristic parameters of faults using GPR.
