Abstract
Error Analysis has been an important research area in the study of second language acquisition.A study of learners' errors is part of the systematic study of the learners' language which is necessary to an understanding of the process of second language acquisition.Furthermore,a good understanding of the nature of errors is necessary to find means to correct them.We also need to have such knowledge if we are to make any well-founded proposals for the development and improvement of the materials and techniques of language teaching. The paper presents a review of the previous work of Error Analysis, identifying what it aims to achieve and what are its significance in having a good understanding of the sources of learners' errors and the reasons behind their continued occurrence year after year with different groups of learners,in order to help determine the sequence and emphasis of instruction in our future teaching.
