Abstract
The hindrance of communication is becoming more and more protruding because of the frequent communication between two countries and cultures.Relevance was put forward by Sperber and Wilson in their collaboration works Relevance: Communication and Cognition(1986/1995),It is the basis of cognitive pragmatics.The theory makes great influences in linguistics and attracts wide attention.To understand and master the basic opinions of the theory and discuss the role of cognitive context in conversational implicature is very useful to have further understanding to the essence of communication,to conversational implicature and have successful cross-cultural communication.
