Abstract

Objective To study the resistance of domestic rodents to anticoagulant rodenticide in Longmen County. Methods Fifty-five Rattus norvegicus and 20 Rattus flavipectus were captured in Longmen area and their resistance to rodenticide was monitored based on the procedure recommended by the National Collaborating Group for monitoring resistance of rodent to rodenticide. Results The resistant rates of the Rattus norvegicus and Rattus flavipectus were 0% and 5.0%,respectively with the average rodenticide-intaking doses of 10.0mg/kg and 102mg/kg,respectively. Rattus flavipectus was, according to the resistant criterion, resistant to rodenticide. Conclusion The first generation of coagulant rodenticide can be used continuously in this area for killing the rodents and the rodenticide be used scientifically and rationally while strengthening the monitoring of sensitivity of the rodents to rodenticide.
