Abstract

Cr3C2p particle reinforced NiCr composite coatings on CrZrCu substrate were prepared by plasma spraying.Microstructure of the coatings was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD),and the wear resistance of the plasma sprayed Cr3C2p/NiCr and electroplated NiCo coatings were examined on a abrasive tester. The results show that the plasma-sprayed Cr3C2p/NiCr composite coatings present lamellar structure as characteristics.Unmelted Cr3C2 particles and Cr7C3,Cr2Ni3 and CrNi precipitates disperse in NiCr-base coatings. The Cr3C2p/NiCr coatings have higher hardness and abrasive wear resistance compared with Ni-Co plating coatings, and the weight loss of the composite coatings is only 35% of that of the plating coatings.
