Abstract
Objective To study the expression and significance of pS2 protein in breast cancer . Methods Applying immunohistochemical technique(S\|P) , pS2 protein in 100cases of breast cancer was detected . Results There were 57 patients with pS2 protein positive expression ,and 43 with negative expression . There was significant correlation between pS2 protein and menopausal status ,ER status , PR status respectively . Neither tumor size , clinical stage ,nor lymph node status was significantly related with the expression of pS2 protein . Patients with pS2 protein positive expression had higher 5\|year\|survival rate than those with pS2 protein negative expression . Univariate analysis showed that pS2 protein was correlated with the prognosis of breast cancer , prognosis of patients with pS2 positive expression was better than that with negative expression ( P =0.0008 , hazards ratio 0.370) . Multivariate regression analysis indicated that pS2 protein was an important biologic marker affecting relapse and survival after radical\|operation of breast cancer . Conclusion pS2 protein appears to be an independent and valid prognostic factor of breast cancer.
