Abstract
This paper presents the response displacement method for seismic response analysis of slender underground structures. The method is based on properties of motion of slender underground structures. The menial force was ignored and the structure was simplified as a beam on elastic base based on this method. The ground motion due to earthquake was assumed as forced base displacement on the beam. This method simplified the ground-structure interaction problem into a static series analysis of beam on elastic base.
