Abstract
Aim: To understand the genetics of the pollen fertility and spikelet fertility of F1 hybrids of the indica-compatible japonica lines in rice(O.sativa L.),breed the fine varieties in rice. Methods: Genetics on pollen fertility and spikelet fertility of candidate indica-compatible japonica lines was studied with parents, hybrid F1 and F2 of 3 cross combination. Results: G2410 was an indica-compatible japonica line because of its indica-compatibility and its far genetic relationship with japonica varieties(lines). The pollen fertility and spikelet fertility of candidate indica-compatible japonica lines were controlled with many of genes and controlled with one to two key-genes and many of minor polygene in a cross combination.Every key-gene had its different heritability.Spikelet fertility genes were more than pollen fertility genes.
