Abstract
This paper describes a series of experiments carried out with a scale model of a new catamaran design to optimise the hull form, spacing between the hulls and position of the L.C.G. During the experiments resistance, sinkage and trim in calm water; added resistance, heave, pitch, deck accelerations and loads on the cross-members of the catamaran in waves were measured. The paper summarises the results of this systematic study and provides useful data for hydrodynamic and structural design of high speed catamarans.
