Abstract

Phototherapy can be used for the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL),and vari- ous light sources are choiced according to the stages of the disease.Ultraviolet B(UVB)is exclusively effective for patch-stage lesions,narrowband-ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) for both patch-and plaque-stage lesions.Ultraviolet Al(UVAl)is suitable for those with thicker skin lesions and intolerance to psoralen.Monochromatic excimer laser(308nm)is effective in stage IA lesions of mycosis fungoides.Ultraviolet A plus psoralen(PUVA)can clear plaque-phase lesions and extracorporeal photopheresis is more effective for advanced CTCL.Photodynamic thera- py can also be used in the treatment of CTCL.
