Abstract
A simple and sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of vitamin B1 is described based on the redox-complexation reaction between Fe(Ⅲ) and vitamin B1.The resulting Fe(Ⅱ) reacts with phenanthroline to form the orange-red coloured ferrionchelate complex. The equation A=0.012 9C + 0.022 7 and its relative coefficient r is 0.998 8.Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0~60.0 μg·mL-1 of VB1.The detection limit of 0.36 μ g·mL-1 and recovery is between 94.5% and 99.5%.The method has been used to determine VB1 in tablets and injection with satisfactory effects compared with pharmacopoeia method.
