Abstract
PBL(Problem Based Learning) with its emphasis on student-centered learning and the application of thinking and problem solving abilities to students' learning has been seen as a useful tool aimed at assisting traditional education, which attaches greater importance to knowledge instruction than ability improvement,in obtaining the skills now considered necessary for Environment Specialty. We adapt PBL approach by associating with traditional patterns of higher education in undergraduate scientific and technological activities. It has been proved that compared with the non-PBL students, the PBL students demonstrate an improved ability to study more independently, analyze the problems more logically and propose the solutions more rationally. The fact implies that PBL has a positive impact on improving the higher educational quality.
