Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of elective percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)for elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods Thirty patients aged 70 years or greater with AMI underwent PCI after standard medical treatment. Results A total of 38 culprit vessels were treated (42 stents). After follow up for 6~24 months,in-stent restenosis was found in only one patient. There were no angina pectoris attack after follow up for 5 months. Conclusion Elective PCI was an effective and safe method for treating elderly patients with AMI.
