Abstract
The image of Yuelao,a legendary old man in charge of marriage in Chinese folk,first appeared in Li Fu-yan's Engagement Shop in Tang Dynasty.Yuelao's red line can bring lovers together,which indicates the concept of predestination in Tang Dynasty.The artistic representation of this concept can be found in many of Tang's novels.
