A Comparison on the Mental Health of Normal and Professional Senior High School Students in Baoding City

Objective To study the mental health state of normal and professional senior high school students.MethodsBy means of stratified random and cluster sampling,1 255 students of senior high school in Baoding city were investigated with mental health test (MHT) in the major,common and professional high schools.ResultsThe occurrence rate of obvious psychological disorder was 1.9%.The main aspects of psychotic anomaly were study anxiety (42.7%),hypersensitive tendency(22.7%),physical symptom (14.0%),and self-blame tendency (9.1%).The senior high school students worried about study and examination most.The mental health states of the students were different in the different schools;the order of scores from high to low was the magnet senior high school,the normal senior high school and the professional senior high school.The mental health state of the magnet senior high school students was better than those in the other two(P0.05);the mental state of the normal senior high school students was superior to that of professional senior high school students(P0.05);the mental health state of girl-students was worse than that of boy- students(P0.05).ConclusionTo strengthen the mental health education of high school students,especially the professional senior high school students,is helpful for the senior high school students to improve their mental health level and to grow healthily.
