The groups and features of tropical forest vegetation of Hainan Island

Abstract
In this paper, the historical changing of tropical forest vegetation of Hainan Island was reviewed; the tropical forest vegetation classified units and order were discussed as well. Then a renewing classification system of tropical forest vegetation of Hainan Island was put forward. The tropical forest vegetation of Hainan Island could be classified into 2 vegetation type groups, 7 vegetation types, 4 vegetation subtypes, 35 formations, 21 subformations and 109 association groups or associations. The typical communities were described at the same time.
