Abstract
The effect of the SOD mimics containing transition metals and L-amino acids on salt stress of maize seedlings was investigated. The seeds of maize were treated with a certain concentrations of SOD mimics (0.1-0.5mol L-1) by the way of soaking and spraying. The biomass,chlorophyll content,photosynthetic rates and SOD activities were determined in the-8th-ledf period. The results showed that SOD mimics could increase biomass(1.32%-15.77%,7.05%-15.89%) and chlorophyll contents(7.20%-26.51%),improvd photosynthetic rates(17.60%-41.40%) and enhancd the high SOD activities(0%-38.75%),whieh means that the SOD mimics could protect the maize seedling against the salt stress.
