Guan Yu was the biggest obstacle in Zhuge Liang's way to become prime minister, so Zhuge Liang did not hesitate to exterminate Guan Yu through Sun Quan's army and then dismembered some power of Fa Zheng making use of political trickery. Zhuge Liang became the prime minister through elaboration over ten years.
