Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect of percutaneouns kyphoplasty(PKP) and percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) with injectable calcium sulfate from October 2008 to October 2011.Methods Fifty patients were treated underCarmed imaging guiding.PVP and PKP were treated by percutaneous puncture. The purpose of them were try to restore the height of vertebral body. And then injected absorbable calcium sulfate, finished the operation confirmed byCarmed imaging. To evaluate the opreration effects with visual analogue scale(VAS),activity evaluation score and the height restoration rate of vertebral body. Results Marked pain relief was achieved in all patients through VAS(visual analogue scale). And all patients had improved in activity and restored in the height of vertebral body. Conclusion Injectable calcium sulfate is a good filler in the treatment of PVP and PKP.
