Abstract
Largely responding to Tao Yuanming in poem was an exceptive phenomenon in the history of Chinese literature.There were three reasons that Su Shi responded to Tao,the first was to express irritancy,second to like Tao's poem and third to advocate Tao Yuanming.Su Shi studied but didn't incarcerate Tao.Su Shi's poems responding to Tao's highlighted man's unyielding,broad-minded character and plain and natural poem style who had come through a spirit adventure.Poems responding to Tao's are the important data of literary history by which we can research Su shi's thoughts,life experience and aesthetic interest in his late years.It was a symbol of his poem style changing and built a dialogue mechanism between the modernists and the ancients.
