The Clinical Significance of the Expression of CD28/B7 on PBMC in Patients with Chronic Glomerulonephritis(CGN)

Objective To investigate the expression feature of the costimulatory molecules CD28/B7 on PBMC(peripheral blood mononuclear cells) in patients with CGN ,and explore their possible significance in the pathogenesis of CGN.Methods The expression of CD3, CD4, CD8, CD28, CD4CD28, CD8CD28, B7 on PBMC in 25 patients with CGN and 15 normal controls were examined by using immunophenotyping and flowcytometry.Results There was no statistical difference between CD3 in patients with CGN and that in the controls ( P 0.05) .The expression of CD4,CD28,CD4CD28, CD8CD28 in patients with CGN decreased significantly in comparison with the controls, meanwhile the expression of CD8,B7 increased significantly compared to that of the controls.Conclusion The dysfunction of cell immunity ,especially the abnormal expression of the costimulatory molecules CD28/B7 plays an important role in the pathogenesis of CGN.
