Abstract

Objective:To find out the clinical signficance of telomerease activity in diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ovarian serous tumor. Methods:In situ hybridization was used to detect telomerease TERT protein expression in 40 cases of ovarian serous tumor tissues (benign tissue from 20 cases, borderline tissue from 5 cases and malignant tissue from 15 cases). Results:Telomerease activity was detected in 5% of benign tissue (1 case), 60% of borderline tissues (3 cases) and 93.3% of malignant tissue (14 cases). Conclusions:Telomerease TERT protein expression may do help to diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ovarian serous tumor.
