Guo Jun's Dialect Variation and Change: Investigation Research of Town Speech of Lishui is a brilliant work combined sociolinguistics with dialectology.It overlaps research methods of sociolinguistics and dialectology.First,the analysis data was collected by sociolinguistic interview and questionnaires which makes the sample more representative and the language survey more scientific.The commonly used method of interviewees' reading the List of Chinese Dialect Words in dialect investigation improves the efficiency of field work.The analysis method combines the theory of language variation and change with the theory of phonology to explore what have been changed in Town Speech of Lishui and what effects have been made on it by Putonghua,and to reveal the dynamic change process and development rule of the system of Town Speech of Lishui closing up to that of Putonghua.
