The Historical Fate of Philosophical Dialectics

In its original sense,philosophical dialectics is not logic of objective world, and its essence,forms and opposites are not like what we interpret traditionally.Dialectics,a kind of liberal art and methodology of thinking,belongs to the subjective world.Its essence is criticism and revolution,its forms are dialogue and dispute,its opposites are dogmatism and sophism,and its contents are unlimitedly abundant and concrete.In any area of philosophical study,dialectics is the criterion of truth and touchtone of fallacy.But the fate of dialectics in human civilized history is miserable,which resulted from the internal logic of the development of theory,and from the external cause of the cultural and political background in certain period of history.In history,dialectics could only be generated by liberal and democratic culture with which dialectics shares the same fate.With China entering the age of reform and opening-up and the age of thought liberation,dialectics with its essence as revolution and criticism,could once more see the light of day.
