Abstract

We reply here to the comments of Jiao et al.on our previous paperPartial Melting of Hydrous Lower Continental Crust: Discussion on the Petrogenesis of C-Type Adakites From the Dabie Orogen. We propose that(1) the protoliths of the C-type adakites from the Dabie orogen might have a basic composition with SiO2 content of ca.50%,but more accurate estimation is to be investigated,(2) partial melting of amphibolite at 1.0~1.2 GPa(corresponding to a depth of 35~40 km) can result in residues containing ≥20% garnet,and(3) medium-potassium amphibolitic protolith(ca.1% K2O) can generate high-K calc-alkaline felsic melts with K2O content of 3.5%~5%.
