Abstract

Objective To explore relationship between CT diagnosis in the invasion by esophageal cancer and pathological results. Methods 226 cases of esophageal cancer were examined by CT and proved by operatively and pathologivally,The CT findings and pathological results were analysed. Results The sensibility, particularity, positive forecast ,negative forecast and accuracy of invasion by esophageal cancer in CT were 80.6%, 97.9%, 86.2%, 96,9% and 95.5%.False negative and positive were 6 cases and 5 cases,The rate of invasion by esophageal cancer was 92.0% as the esophageal wall is thicker than 2cm. Conclusions CT was very useful to diagnose the invasion by esophageal cancer and to select the befitting treatment methods, and to forecast the difficulty of the operation, so the CT examination was necessary before the surgery of esophagus cancer.
