The "Season" of Language:Humanistic Passion and Oriental Sentiments

Mao Han's poems are filled with oriental sentiments whose cultivation results from the poet's profound accomplishments in classical literature,but the fresh style in his poems,instead of being necessarily classical,is represented in his cultural and mental structure,in his unique way to comprehend and experience current life and in the linguistic patterns of his poems.In view of all this,it can be roughly discerned that modern and ancient elements are in a relationship of mutual transformation rather than the commonly-observed relationship of simple dichotomy or sharp opposition.What the poet has on his mind should be his anxiety over relevant circumstances and his inner anguish arising inevitably from social transformation.
