Abstract
The levels of interleukin 6(IL 6) and IL 8 in the supernatant of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) stimulated by different concentration of alkali soluble and insoluble β glucan of cell wall from Candida albicans were detected by ELISA to investigate whether these two kinds of glucan could be capable of inducing PBMC cells to secret IL 6 and IL 8. The results showed IL 6 and IL 8 could be induced by 3 concentrations of insoluble β glucan, but alkali soluble β glucan could not induce these two cytokines at any concentration.
