Abstract
The microstructure and fractographic patterns of WC particle reinforced steel matrix composites by centrifugal casting were investigated. The results show that the technology of centrifugal casting made the microstructure fine, the distribution of WC particle in the composites was uniform and no apparent particles segregation. The main characteristics of fracture of composite materials were fragile fracture, the cleavage of WC particle and the breakaway of interface were observed on the fractures.
