Study of the Relations between the Later Jin Dynasty and the Khalkha Mongolia——Focusing on Nurhaci's efforts to win Engdel as the ally

Due to the confrontation between the Ming Dynasty and the Later Jin Dynasty, and the particular geographic position as well as its powerful military strength, Khalkha Mongolia became the focus of which both the Ming Dynasty and the Later Jin Dynasty would make efforts to win as their ally. As a Bayut Taiji of Khalkha Mongolia, Engdel had established connections with Later Jin Dynasty early. Through Engdel's efforts as the messenger, Nurhaci achieved in solving disputes between Khalkha Mongolia and the Later Jin Dynasty, and improved their bilateral relations. Thus a lot of Taiji and Tabona were attracted to join the Later Jin Dynasty. All this was decisive for the Later Jin Dynasty to separate Khalkha Mongolia and isolate Chaha.
