On the Social Function and Intention of the Ethnic Languages and Written Words——Taking Zhuang Language as an Example

Equality of languages for all ethnic groups has always been a policy of our country.Compared with the languages and written words of the mainstream society,the languages of the ethnic groups are limited in either the social function or the applied range.However the Constitution of our country confirms that the languages of all ethnic groups are equal.The ethnic language is the ethnic’s own thinking and communication tool,as well as the media to record their traditional culture.Hence the ethnic language has an irreplaceable function in bilingual education,normal training,cultural study,medical and biological research and protection of extinctive cultures.
