When the 20th century was drawing to a close, the International Community held an extraordinary trial in Tokyo, which was aimed at investigating and affixing the responsibility for Japan's practising the military slavery during the Second World War, It was the first time that the International Community had convicted 裕仁 of committing crimes and that the Tribunal had dispensed justice to the victims.
