Abstract
The 20th century is regarded as the golden age of the development of linguistics.During this period,linguistics was accepted as an independent scientific discipline,and different linguistic schools came into being,whose theories composed the basic theoretical framework of modern linguistics.All this owned a great deal to the Swiss linguist Ferdinand de Saussure's contribution to general linguistics.
