Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of patient-controlled analgesia(PCEA) to breast feeding after cesarean section. Methods 172 cases patients with cesarean section were randomly divided into the PCEA group and the control group, each of 86 cases. Both groups used epidural anesthesia for cesarean section. The PCEA group received PCEA analgesia, but the control group received injection of pethidine hydrochloride according the condition.Observed postoperative analgesic effect and time of colostrum, anal exhaust time,24h the number of breast-feeding and 48h the level of prolactin. Results 8h,24h,48h analgesic effective rate of the PECA group were higher than those of the control group(P0.05).The colostrum time and anal exhaust time of the PCEA group were shorter than those of the control group,24h the number of breast-feeding was more than that of the control group,48h prolactin level was higher than that of the control group(P0.05).Conclusion PCEA can eliminate the pain associated with post-partum anxiety, stress and other emotional responses, increase prolactin secretion, and promote early lactation and early lactation.
