Abstract
Combined with study on the test of simulating embankment and practical engineering of one highway, the mechanism, characters and the test method of disintegration of red sandstone had deeply been discussed and the effective classified method of red sandstone in engineering had been brought forward. Moreover, the techniques of embankment filling using red sandstone as embankment material had been researched and valid construction techniques of red sandstone embankment had been established, and the rational quality control standards and the detective method of embankment had been put forward, authors had provided a reliable technique which pledge for filling of embankment of highway in red sandstone regions.
