Abstract

Transnasal esophagogastroduodenoscopy is a new technique for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. It is better tolerated by patients with a lower incidence of nausea, and may obviate the need for conscious sedation. Therefore, it is a safe and feasible alternative to conventional endoscopy. In this article, the operative procedure of unsedated transnasal esophagogastroduodenoscopy and its feasibility, tolerance and safety were reviewed.
