Abstract

A novel molecular complex-based dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method coupling with high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was established to determine benzoic acid and sorbic acid in sauce samples.Several important parameters influencing the extraction efficiency were optimized, including kind and volume of extracting solvents, kind and volume of dispersing solvents,pH,ion strength, extraction time. The linear ranges were both 10-1 000μg/L and the correlation coefficient were 0.9984and 0.9986,respectively.Under the optimal conditions, the limits of detection(LODs)of the two analytes were 2.2and 2.0μg/L,respectively.The relative recoveries for spiked sauce samples were in the range of 92%-105.5% for benzoic acid,89.5%-101% for sorbic acid with relative standard deviations varying from 1.9%to 4.1%.The proposed method was proved to be a rapid, simple, efficient and environmentally friendly method for the simultaneous determination of benzoic acid and sorbic acid in sauce samples.
