Abstract
The Survey of the fauna composition and group diversity of Qilihai was made from February, 2002 to February, 2003. The results show that 78 species of birds belonging to 23 families and 12 orders have been found. 40 species (51.28%) belong to Palearctis region,30 species(39.74%) belong to cosmopolition, and 7 species(8.97%) belong to the Oriental birds. 23 species(29.49%) are summer birds, 43 species(55.13%) are travelers, 4 species(5.13%)are winter birds, and 8 species(10.26%) are residents. The birds of land have the most important contribution to the group diversity in this area. In the limited time and space, the landscape diversity is the key factor controlling bird species diversity.
