Abstract
[Objective] To explore the problems and countermeasures in the work of occupational disease control and prevention in Sanming city. [Methods]Investigation data of all sorts of acute occupational poisoning was collected; retrospective analysis was made on the hygienic statistical data of the occupational diseases in the hygienic statistical reports of Sanming City. [Results] The situation of local occupational disease control and prevention was proved to be quite serious with 74 175 works exposed to occupational disease hazardous elements; 3539 cases of acute or chronic occupational diseases and over 3000 suspected patients were detected by the end of 2006; the occupational prevention system is expected to be established. [Conclusion]The occupational hygienic supervision work should be strengthened; coordination should be improved between the departments of safety surveillance and the workers' union; social protection system is expected to be perfected.
