Abstract

Based on comprehensive study of geological and structural setting, statistics of hydrocarbon resources, time distribution of hydrocarbon resources, depth and proved reserves in major hydrocarbon basins inChina, the exploration strategy, policy and role are discussed in this paper, and the prospective areas for furtherhydrocarbon exploration are pointed out.
