Anatomical Observation of Reproductive System of Adults of Phyllotreta striolata

The reproductive system of the adults of Phyllotreta striolata(Fabricius)was observed through anatomy method.The results showed that the reproductive system of female adult was constituted by a pair of ovaries,a pair of lateral oviducts,median oviduct,bursa copulatrix,spermatheca,genital chamber and ovipositor.The reproductive system of male adult was constituted by a pair of testes,a pair of vas deferens,a pair of male accessory glands,ejaculatory duct and penis.There were 8-12 ovarioles in an ovary of female adults,there were 7-10 ova in an ovariol,so there were 112-240 ova in an ovary.The abdomen and penis of male adult were bending,which was helpful to successful mating.
