Abstract
The history and status quo of China poplar breeding were stated. Idea of high growth and low cost of selected poplar kinds were suggested. Ecological breeding of region and sustainable development strategy would be adopted during poplar breeding. It would be pay attention to control and management of new poplar variety . Interest of poplar breedinger and cultivater would be ensured.
