Sedimentary Facies Analysis Using Multiple Logging Data for the Lower Cretaceous in Block X

Abstract

Because of rare outcrop,limited drilling wells and little cores,many important indicators of sedimentary facies,such as formation lithology,sedimentary cycle,sedimentary structure,palecurrent,can be obtained from logging data with abundant information and continuity data,thus providing reliable conditions for sedimentary facies study.Combining with regional geological background,on the basis of core scaling logging data,the lithology can be identified,and the sedimentary cycle and sedimentary rhythms can be divided by studying normal log shapes and vertical sequence variation.Based on the above analysis,the sedimentary structure,rock texture and palecurrent of sandbody can be accurately identified by using imaging logging.The results show that the Lower Cretaceous in block X includes 3 sedimentary cycles,and mainly develops braided river delta,fan delta,shore-shallow lake deposit.There are many different groups of paleocurrent directions,which reveals the sediment from multiple source areas.
