Effect of different interstocks on the growth and fruit quality of Gonggan Mandarin

Anliu orange,Hongjiang orange,Tankan and Ponkan were used as interstocks for Gonggan Mandarin(Citrus reticulata Blanco Var.Gonggan) to study the compatibility of interstocks,growth of trees,yield and fruit quality.The rootstock of Citrus tangerine Hort was used as the control.The results showed that the compatibility among the four kinds of interstocks and the scion had no remarkable difference.Interstocking promoted canopy formation and the arrival of full yielding period.No obvious difference in yield was observed six years after grafting.Interstocking with Anliu orange,Hongjiang orange amd Tankan increased soluble solids content,total sugar,titratable acidity and fruit internal quality of Gonggan Mandarin significantly.Therefore,Anliu orange,Hongjiang orange amd Tankan are suitable interstocks of Gonggan Mandarin.
