Abstract
Integrating the urban flow model, fund flow model, population flow model, traffic accessibility model, and information accessibility model, this paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation model and analyzes the data of the year-end employee number in various units, industry practitioners number, density of urban population, urban gross domestic product(GDP)in 9cities of Shandong peninsula from 2004 to 2013with the methods of GIS spatial analysis and SPSS.The results are compared with those of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration. It is found that, first, the outward function of Jinan is slightly higher than that of Qingdao and Jinan relies more on the third industry;second, the radiation function of Jinan and Qingdao does not match their status as the core cities, and their outward function has not been enhanced over the years;third, the space and industrial division between the cities are fixed, and the economic connections are loose. The results prove that Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration is still at its elementary stage. It is proposed in this paper that in order to optimize the economic connections between the cities in Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration, the government should take a number of measures, including breaking the traditional fetter of industrial division and building a flexible pattern of urban agglomeration;giving full play to the functions of the core cities by strengthening the cooperation between governments;building a space network system and eliminating the obstacle of elements redistribution;and promoting urbanization step by step and the urban infrastructure construction in small and medium towns.
