Abstract
[Objective]To understand the status of the sanitary quality on drinking water in the countryside of Qiandongnan prefecture.[Methods]The stratified sampling method was applied to investigate water of Zhengyuan,Shibing and Taijiang county .10 sampling points were investigated in each observed county. 30 source water samples and 30 water samples of family were collected, preserved, tested and assessed based on Inspection Specification of Drinking Water and Criterion for implementations of Sanitary Standards on Drinking Water in Countryside.[Results]The qualified rate of source water was 36.67% and the qualified rate of water of family was 23.33%. The causes of disqualification of drinking water were that total bacterial count and coliform group exceeded the limitthe disqualification rates of source water and water of family were 48.33% and 63.33% respectively.[Conclusion]Most of the peasants in the 3 counties are not supplied with gualified drinking water. Contamination of drinking water by microorganisms is the main sanitary problem in water supply.
