An Examination and Review on Liu Ji

A lot of influential works and profound papers have been published in the field of Liu Ji culture studies. However, there are still a few disagreements on some key topics. For example, there are at least three different ideas on the dates when Liu Ji became Xiucai, Juren and Jinshi; at what time his YU LI ZI was composed, three different views exist; and there are two different ideas on the dates when Liu Ji was honored as Taishi and entitled Wencheng. The authors in this paper attempt to give a clear idea on these historical facts through examining the historical materials.
